The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action-adventure survival game that is inspired by a series of novels and games about a monster-slayer known as Geralt of Rivia. You can also play as a monster-slayer, known as a monster-hunter, who is trying to find the child of the prophecy, while making a quick coin from various contracts on the side.

You can play in either first- or third-person mode. In first-person mode, you can interact with the environment and explore the world in a more realistic manner. You can also perform various actions such as jumping, climbing, swimming, etc. In third-person mode, you can explore the world in a more linear manner.

The story takes place in the world of the novel The Witcher, which is inspired by real-world locations. You can visit various locations such as forests, mountains, villages, cities, and so on.
